Here are some things you should know before you install Document Express Pro:
Use the Installer: It's much more difficult to install Document Express by dragging items from the CD onto your hard drive. The installer has a wide variety of options so you can install exactly what you want.
It is recommended that you archive any changed files, particularly database files and Marketing documents, then fully remove and delete your Document Express folder before installing a newer version of Document Express. Your current preferences will be used if you do not delete the preference folder.
• The earliest system you should install on is 7.5
• The installer automatically creates a destination folder for new material called 'Document Express'. By default, this folder will be installed on the root level of your destination volume. If you wish to install the 'Document Express' folder in a different location, press the 'Select Folder' button.
• We have not found any INIT conflicts with the Document Express installer. However, we strongly recommend that you restart with your Extensions and Control Panels turned off (except any needed to access the CD) before using the installer to install Document Express.
• To read a description of each installation option that's more informative than just a name, click on the corresponding little button labeled 'I' on the right side of the installation options list. This option only applies to Custom Install.
• We value your feedback on the installer, the CD organization, and the experience of receiving a new version of Document Express in general. We would like to make all these things better/easier for you to use. If you have bug reports, comments, complaints, suggestions, or other feedback, please let us know by emailing us at support@documentexpress.com.
